Mounds Public Schools, along with Five Star Interlocal Co-op Schools, believes that all children have the right to a free and appropriate education. This is mandated by public law 94-142. This federal law provides for all handicapped children from birth to age twenty-one and who may be in need of special education services. This may include children who are: mentally delayed, mentally retarded, learning disabled, hearing impaired or deaf, blind or partially sighted, emotionally disturbed, autistic, trauma brain injured, other heath impaired, multiple disabled, speech or language handicapped, or physically disabled. Mounds Public Schools and Five Star Interlocal Co-op Schools are interested in locating and identifying handicapped children who are not currently receiving services.
We offer such services as educational and psychological evaluations, counseling, and speech and language evaluations, in addition to basic services provided by the schools. All services are provided at no cost to the parent.
If you have or know of a child who might benefit from our services, please call Yvette Britt at 918.827.6100 ext. 224 or Nancy Anderson at 918.225.5600 / 1.866.355.2667.
